HoffmanKatherine Hoffman, President

Interior Designer, Susan Fredman Design Group

Kathy Hoffman has been a Big Sister for four years, as well as serving on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berrien and Cass board for three years. In addition Kathy is a Senior Interior Designer with Susan Fredman Design Group in Union Pier, MI and Chicago, IL. Kathy's strong background in residential design, renovation and new home construction, in addition to her business marketing skills, brings a diverse talent to her design team. Hoffman's desire to give back to her community originally inspired her to volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters as a lunch buddy. Today she looks forward to leading a talented and energetic board of directors to further develop Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Berrien and Cass, Inc.

About

Our board of directors is our chief governing body and is composed of community members nominated by current board members and elected by affirmative vote of two-thirds of the directors present at a meeting of the Board at which a quorum is present.

The total number of directors varies year by year, but averages 12-15. Each member is asked to contribute annually. The term of office is three years and the board meets monthly.

Our board is an active board and all members take on significant roles and tasks as board members. Board committees include: program, finance, personnel, partnership, communication, evaluation, grants and fundraising / sevent committees.
