Big and a Little together

"Spending time with my Little Brother is easy. Stuff I’d do anyway is more fun with him."

Volunteering is fun!

Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is one of the most rewarding and enjoyable things you will ever do.

It’s easy, too. Your Little can join you for the kinds of activities you already like to do, such as:
• Shooting hoops
• Playing a board game
• Making cookies
• Sharing a pizza
• Taking a walk in the park
• Or, just hanging out and talking.

Just four hours a month can change
a young person’s life.

Depending on the Big Brothers Big Sisters program you’re in, you will meet your Little at his or her school or in the community.

Little Brothers and Little Sisters come from all kinds of backgrounds. Some are really little (as young as six) and some are teenagers. Some may live on your block and some a few miles away. What do they all have in common?

They need the friendship and guidance
of someone like YOU.

In many ways, children face problems today that many of us never dealt with when we were kids. Yet even tough situations are easier when children have a Big Brother or Big Sister to look out for them.
• A Big is a trusted friend, caring mentor and life-changing role model.
• Bigs listen without judging.
• Bigs encourage discovery of interests and talents.

And ultimately, help their Little grow into a confident, capable, contributing adult.

– Ron, age 54, Big Brother
